|| Hobie Pillsbury, D.P.A.
Hobie graduated from West Point with a B.S. in engineering, completed airborne, ranger, and field artillery training, and served in a variety of assignments in the U.S. and overseas during his twenty-four year Army career. He commanded an airborne artillery battery in Germany and a self-propelled battery in Vietnam and later managed the first Army “Be All You Can Be” recruiting budget. He served his final eight years on active duty as a permanent faculty member at the United States Military Academy and retired as a Colonel in 1991.
Over an eight-year period, Hobie held several leadership positions at International Paper, including managing a paper mill producing $400 million of products annually. He has held executive information technology positions with consolidators in three separate industries, commercial landscaping, utility and telecommunications construction and services, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) construction and services.
Hobie earned a Master in Public Administration Degree from Harvard University, an MBA from Long Island University, and a Doctor of Public Administration Degree from George Washington University and completed the Army Command and General Staff College, the Armed Forces Staff College, and the Army War College programs. Leadership and team building, training and development have been core interests and hands-on activities for Hobie throughout his multi-faceted career.
